I get a text from my ‘boyfriend #2’ (Katherine) telling me to take the
10th of July off work. First experience at the Basilica
Block Party, and it was so chill. Good vibes everywhere. Everyone was so nice
and friendly. Different businesses were handing out a bunch of free stuff. Who
doesn’t love free things? I know I do. There were food, drinks, and the best
part, live music! I got to see Matt Kearney. I am such a huge fan of his song
‘Ships in the Night.’ It was a great experience and I’m blessed I got to go for
free. (: If you live around the twin cities, I would definitely recommend to
make the Basilica Block Party a summer goal next year!
What I’m wearing:
When I think of a block party, I think of outside weather and a place filled with people. Crowded. Body heat. Sun. So I decided to wear something simple, comfortable, breezy, but still cute. A flowy dress is the perfect piece to wear to a block party. It’s effortless and no layering necessary so I didn’t have to worry about being too hot or uncomfortable. Threw on a belt to extenuate my body, a straw fedora to fix a bad second hair day, & strappy sandals for comfort and they’re really in this summer!
